REASERCH AREAS

The reaserch areas of the Department include biogerontology, cancer biology and experimental cardiology, which are mainly focused on:

  • Reaserch on the connection between the process of senescence in normal cells and development of cancer diseases.
  • Reaserch on the patomechanism of cancer diseases relapse with role of exsosomes,
  • Reaserch on the chemotherapy’s effect on the normal and cancer cells senescence.
  • Reaserch on the mechanism of replicative and stress induced senescence, effector pathway in senescence-associated secretory phenotype.
  • Reaserch on the connection between cell senescence and autophagy.
  • Reaserch on the effect of arterial hypertension and antihypertensive drugs on vascular endothelial cells.

All the mentioned research areas are fullfiled by various reaserch models including: cell cultures, experimental animals, ovarian cancer tummors cells collected from patients with ovary cancer. The main measurement methods are: fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, qPCR, western blot and ELISA.
